Literature Text

Who can say what is hidden in the folds?

A honeyed fragrance, a sweet perfume.
Surviving dewdrops of a morn.
Secrets slipped away 'tween darkened silk -
softly treasured and silently caressed.
Perhaps a heart's unspoken desire,
Resting in the gentle curve
of a petal.
Tucked beneath blooming layers of magnificence,
nurtured in Earth's bosom,
a rose.
Whipped up in a minute because I was struck by a sudden flash of inspiration when I saw this picture. I'm sorry I haven't been really looking at deviations or comments, I will be getting to it soon, I promise. Hope you like this poem! :D

You know, I'm not much of a poetry person. Well, modern poetry. Sonnets still get to me, esp. Shakespeare and John Donne.

But aside from that, I'm not much of a poetry person.

That being said, this is pretty nice. I do wonder if you didn't state what you were describing at the end of the poem if it might flow better. Allow the imagry to do all the work and trust your reader to relate and understand. But then again, as I said, I'm not much of a poetry person.
